  2. Twisted structure: When lowered into the seabed, steel cables tend to rotate and twist. There have been major research accidents where twisting caused breakage, resulting in lost instruments.

  3. Susceptibility to seawater corrosion: Prolonged exposure to seawater weakens steel cables, leading to breakage, loss of instruments, failed experiments, and loss of state assets.

This equipment utilizes the principle of cold and hot stretching of polymer materials to enhance rope strength, reduce elongation, and apply coatings for improved functionality, including corrosion resistance, waterproofing, and anti-biofouling. This expands the application scope and service life of the ropes. Depending on the environment, submersible buoy ropes can be made from low-elongation Kevlar or high-strength, lightweight Dyneema materials.
